U.S. stocks were mixed on Wednesday afternoon, after exhibiting strong gains earlier in the day and the release of fairly strong economic data.

Dow Jones Industrial Average
fell 18 points, or 0.1%, while the S&P 500 rose 0.1% and the Nasdaq Composite advanced 0.2%, one day after hitting a new closing record.
