Belleville grocery store to become Piggly Wiggly | Business News
Piggly Wiggly is an iconic Wisconsin brand and traces its roots in the state to 1911 in Sheboygan. The corporate company, Piggly Wiggly Midwest, includes 85 independently owned franchisees, 11 corporate stores and 14 Butera Market stores in Chicago. In July, Piggly Wiggly Midwest was purchased by C&S Wholesale Grocers in New Hampshire.
Founded in 1918 as a supplier to independent grocery stores, C&S now supplies more than 7,700 independent supermarkets, chain stores, military bases and institutions with over 137,000 different products.
Kwik Trip milestone
Just eight years after opening its 400th store, Kwik Trip has now doubled the number of its locations.
The La Crosse-based convenience store retailer opened on Dec. 30 a 9,000-square-foot store in Holmen, its 800th store.
