The jerky plant of a 40-year-old jerky business in Greenville, California, did not survive the Dixie Fire, according to a social media post.
Riley’s Jerky has been a fixture in Greenville since 1981, when it was founded by Riley Burkholder, “far from the large city atmosphere,” its website reads. The business, at 203 Kinder Ave., is owned and operated by Burkholder’s grandson, Kaley Bentz.
“Riley’s is, and always has been, a family-owned-and-operated beef jerky business, and it is important to us that it stays that way,” the website says.
