Early Morning Blaze Destroys Ellery Business | News, Sports, Jobs
ELLERY — Investigators were looking into the cause of a fire that destroyed a town of Ellery business Sunday.
Fluvanna firefighters were alerted to the blaze at Homestead Cafe, 3062 Route 430, around 2:15 a.m. Crews from surrounding fire departments were called to assist at the scene.
In a message posted to Facebook, Homestead Cafe said, “Thank you to all the first responders and volunteers on scene. This is a devastating loss we will be attempting to navigate in the upcoming days.”
The cause of the fire has not been released.
“Investigators are actively investigating but do not have a cause at this time,” the Sheriff’s Office said. “No injuries were reported.”
A portion of Route 430 was closed for several hours due to the fire.
