COLONIE – Assemblyman Phil Steck was joined by state Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie Monday at the former Colonie Elks Lodge location to announce a $2 million investment for Colonie Senior Service Center that will support the King Thiel II affordable senior housing facility.
A $2 million investment will support infrastructure, property site improvements and on-site parking and is intended to address limited competition and the large wait list at King Thiel Senior Center I. The facility will be a three-story building comprised of 125,629 square feet of living space and is scheduled to be completed in 2024.
It will offer 99 rental units, housing 162 seniors, and will be more affordable than most competing facilities.
